Ring Man: or (The Unexpected Life Beatdown)

Well, I guess it is my turn to spill the beans on what a certain Robot Master can do and why you should fear him.  Ring Man feels like the next big attack tempo deck for UFS.  Between his symbol spread and card access he is designed to cheat is hand size as much as possible between his response to draw a extra card on your opponents turn and multiple other free draws that are available to him. And yes I understand that this man could be better as “Geyser Man” but my objection was not to prove that he is good with 1 attack but is great in a well-designed toolbox styled deck.

This deck’s main turn one objective is like any other.  Turn 3 or 4 are your objective kill turns.  Build 4 on turn 1.  With that high number of 1 difficulty spam foundations and revokes this is more than able to be done.  Turn 2/3 Poke as you can while not emptying your hand and build 2 foundations a turn as well.   Turn 4 you want to have 1 momentum handy and hopefully a sculpted had to play 3 attacks and no-Mai your way to victory.

In-depth breakdown-On the Attack
The attack line up for this deck is designed on value.  Air Slam and KERSPLAT!! are your pokes.  They chip damage your way to victory while both setting up for your second attack of your turn.  Haoh Raiou Ken or HRK, and Fire Storm are the big boys of this deck.  These are the big attacks that are going to chunk away your opponent’s life total plus they can be your strongest defense.  With your static both of these attacks are coming in for 10 damage with and 5 and 6 speed respectively. Not bad at all.   Now your hopes and dreams are for the No Mai hand where your can spam 3 strong attacks and then Play No Mai and reset the card pool and draw a fresh hand.  Your offensive foundations plan falls primarily on Kyokugen Disciple and Clever Strategist for strong speed bonus and poke damage bonuses from 8000 Degrees and Frightening Appearance.

In-depth breakdown-On the defense
This deck is a toolbox of various defense options.  From Anti-draw with Caught Red Handed, to multiple Anti-speed cards such as High School Crush, Dust in the Wind, and Clever Strategist your plan is just to protect yourself as much as possible.  Many of your attacks are just as strong on defense as they are on offense also.  HRK is a great Anti discard pile regrowth along with a surprising play to stop later turn multiples.  Fire Storm will allow for your to cheat play another move on your turn plus the anti-destruction of foundations response seems to get better and better as more sets come out.   Oh and don’t forget Revoke.  This action is a staple in all 3 symbols and you should always consider this card a threat.

You will see that I love to ramble but I hope I have made the point that you don't need to judge a book by the cover and rather try something outside the box with the new characters.  You maybe surprised what you find.

Expect my next article to reveal my choice for the Trinity Geyser man of this set.
